More Than a Foundation.
A Community.
Razwa Foundation Uganda was founded in Busia, Eastern Uganda, by community leaders who had seen first-hand what happens when well-intentioned organisations lose sight of their founding principles — when politics replaces purpose, and bureaucracy crowds out service.
We started again — fresh, deliberate, and uncompromising. The name RAZWA is our manifesto: Restoring Aspirations, Zeal and Wellbeing for All. Not some. Not those who share our faith. Not those from our tribe. All.
We serve orphans, widows, and youth. We build boreholes, run health clinics, support schools, construct mosques, and bring communities together. We do this with integrity, transparency, and accountability — not because we are watched, but because those values are the only foundation on which real, lasting change can be built.
No child should lose their future because of poverty. No widow should face tomorrow alone. No community should be left behind because they lack a voice.
Our Founding Conviction
Mission & Vision
Our Mission
Razwa Foundation Uganda exists to serve the vulnerable — orphans, widows, and youth — through charity, clean water, health education, and skills empowerment, drawing on a spirit of compassion and extending that service to all communities without discrimination.
Our Vision
A future where vulnerable communities across Uganda live with dignity, access to basic needs, and the tools to shape their own futures — where no person is left behind because of poverty, circumstance, or a lack of opportunity.
Our Core Values
We are transparent in every decision, every financial account, and every action we take. Our donors, beneficiaries, and community can always see exactly where resources go and why decisions are made.
We approach every person we serve with empathy, dignity, and genuine care. Our work is not charity dispensed from above — it is a shared journey towards dignity for every member of our community.
We serve all people regardless of religion, tribe, gender, or background. Our programmes are open to every community in Busia, and we actively work to reach those who are most often overlooked.
We equip people with tools to shape their own futures rather than creating dependency. Every programme is designed to build local capability, not just deliver short-term relief.
We build solutions designed to outlast our direct involvement. Community ownership, local training, and proper handover protocols are built into every project we undertake.
Our work is a genuine calling, not an obligation. We serve because we believe deeply in the dignity and potential of every person — and because we have seen what becomes possible when people are truly supported.

What Makes Us Different
We are not the only organisation working in Busia. But we do a few things that set us apart.
Radical Transparency
Every shilling is accounted for. We publish annual financial reports, hold open General Assembly meetings, and maintain three-signatory bank accounts. Our donors know exactly what their money does.
Community Ownership
We don't arrive with solutions. We arrive with resources and questions. Communities identify their needs, own the assets we create, and steward them long after we step back. Sustainability is built in from day one.
No Discrimination
We serve all people. Our programmes do not ask what faith you follow, what tribe you belong to, or who you vote for. If you are vulnerable and in Busia, you are our community.
